As of June 16 the project was awarded to Eaton Asphalt for 700,021.30 . (1) Site preparation and erosion control; (2) Constructing Culvert Pipe; (3) Backfill with flowable fill; (4) Restore pavement and curbs; (5) Final dressing, cleanup, and seeding; (6) Maintaining and controlling traffic; and (7) Any other work as specified by this contract. A. Culvert Pipe. All culvert pipes shall be replaced to match the proposed pipe diameter on the Culvert Pipe Log on Page 24. All pipe shall be HDPE culvert pipe or equivalent. Design pipe for a cover height of 2 feet and pH Range M. B. Flowable Fill. Use flowable fill conforming to Section 701.02.05. C. Asphalt Pavement. Use Class 2 Asphalt Base 1.0D PG64-22 and Class 2 Asphalt Surface 0.38D PG 64-22. D. Concrete. Use Class A concrete for all concrete work. E. Maintain and Control Traffic. See Traffic Control Plan. A Bid Bond amounting to five (5%) percent of the proposed bid/proposal price must be provided with the response. The Bid Bond may be in the form of a surety bond, cashier check or other form of surety satisfactory to the county attorney. A Performance Surety Bond amounting to one hundred (100%) percent. Questions must be submitted by 4:00pm on 6/1/23. Answers shall be posted no later than 4:00pm on 6/2/23 on the online. Kenton County reserves the right at any time and for any reason to cancel this Request for Bids/Proposals, accept or reject any or all bids/proposals or any portion thereof, or to accept an alternate bid/proposal. Kenton County reserves the right to waive any immaterial defect in any bid. Kenton County may seek clarification from any bidder/offeror at any time and failure to respond promptly is cause for rejection. All materials shall be sampled and tested in accordance with the Department's Sampling Manual. Make the materials available for sampling a sufficient time in advance of the use of the materials to allow for the necessary time for testing unless otherwise specified in these Notes. Except as provided herein, maintain and control traffic in accordance with the KYTC Standard and Supplemental Specifications and the Standard and Sepia Drawings, current editions. The contractor shall maintain one lane of traffic at all times to adequately accommodate traffic through the work zone, unless otherwise noted by the Engineer. Except for the roadway and traffic control bid items listed, all items of work necessary to maintain and control traffic will be paid at the lump sum bid price to "Maintain and Control Traffic".
