Renovation of a conference / convention center in Liberal, Kansas. Completed plans call for the renovation of a conference / convention center.
Seward County Commissioners are soliciting Bids for the removal and replacement of existing "Kalwall" Translucent Panels currently installed on the Seward County Activity Center located at 810 Stadium Avenue in Liberal, Kansas 67901. The Activity Center was originally constructed in 1987. The existing panels have some deterioration prompting the need for replacement. Project consists of the removal and replacement of: (4) 18'-8" wide by 3'-10" high panels with a sill elevation of approx.. 16'4" above grade (located above a lower roof area). (12) 16'-8" wide by 3'10" high panels with a sill elevation of approx.. 16'-4" above grade (located above a lower roof area). (2) gable end wall panel systems measuring 59'-10" wide (at base) with each sidewall ht. of 9'-4" and a center peak ht. of 21'-0". Sill elevation is approximately 20'-0" above grade (located above a lower roof area). Current panel layout consists of 12 vertical panels with sloping tops at approx.. 4.5/12 slope. The envelope should be plainly marked "Activity Center Kalwall". Bids received after the scheduled time will be returned unopened. Bids will be presented to the Board of Seward County Commissioners at their regularly scheduled meeting on Tuesday, June 20, 2023. The Activity Center was originally constructed in 1987. The accepted bidder will be required to provide a performance bond equal to 100% percent of the contract price. Such bond will be required at contract signing. All contractors and subcontractors that work on the project must be licensed with Seward County. Solicitations from qualified minority and women owned businesses, firms and individuals are encouraged by Seward County. This encouragement does not infer preference and all solicitations will be evaluated equally. All purchases shall give preference to Seward County merchants when applicable. Award shall be made to the best bidder within Seward County when the amount is not more than five percent (5%) higher than the best out-of-county bid. The Board of County Commissioners of Seward County, Kansas reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids, the right to waive any or all irregularities therein, and the right to accept the bid deemed to be in the best interest of the County.
