The City is seeking three (3) or more established reliable, qualified professional contractors to provide asbestos abatement services in vacant residential or commercial properties within the City. The City intends to enter into a requirements contract with the selected Contractor(s) for a one year term with the option for the City to renew for two (2) additional one-year terms The selected Contractor(s) must provide asbestos abatement services to meet all Federal, State and Local requirements. General Abatement Activities must comply with the following: All persons working on any aspect of an asbestos hazard abatement project must be licensed or certified by the State of Ohio Department of Health as required by Ohio Law. All clearance air monitoring technicians or asbestos hazard evaluation specialists must be certified by the Ohio Department of Health. All personnel must have taken and passed their required physicals. Asbestos Abatement Services 2023 - 2026 3 All Field personnel must be trained in the proper use of respirators, equipment, site preparation, and decontamination. Additionally, all personnel must have complete working knowledge of the rules and regulations pertaining to safety and hazard of asbestos as supported by their state certification. Each worker must be provided with full body suits and individually fitted respirators. The workers' suits must be treated as contaminated material and disposed of in accordance with government regulations. All contaminated areas must be so posted, and equipment and bags properly labeled. The City of Shaker Heights reserves the right to reject any and all submittals and to accept any submittals which it deems most favorable to the City. Submittals of qualifications will be evaluated based on qualifications, experience, and references.
