The successful contractors are to provide all labor and equipment necessary to demolish each house, including;
any remaining contents within the house/property, garage, other appurtenant structures and driveway including
the removal of:
Driveway apron;
Fencing;
Only trees, stumps, shrubs, and landscaping adjacent to the house or garage structure are to be
removed. Trees that hinder the demolition process are to be removed. Remaining trees are to be left
undisturbed unless determined otherwise by the City;
Tree lawn trees are to be protected throughout the demolition process. Damage to tree lawn trees is
the responsibility of the demolition company;
Remove all demolition related debris from neighboring properties at the completion of the first day of
work;
Damage to adjacent properties, sidewalks, lawns, tree lawns, and tree lawn trees resulting from
demolition activities are the responsibility of the demolition contractor;
Prior to final approvals, all demolition debris must be removed from the site.
The successful contractor is responsible for the timely replacement of:
Damaged sidewalks;
Street curb - per ODOT Type 6 specifications and matching curb heights to existing curb. See
specification below; and
Reconnect damaged curb drain as necessary The City of Shaker Heights is seeking qualified demolition contractors to carry out demolitions of residential and/or commercial and/or fire damaged properties as needed by the City, including emergency demolitions.
The City intends to enter into a one-year requirements contract with three qualified contractors who are able to provide these services, with an option for the City to extend the contracts for two additional one-year periods.
Once the contracts are in place, the City will request quotes from the selected contractors for each demolition project as it arises and award each demolition or group of demolitions to the lowest and best proposing firm.
