The Transfer Station operates under an Oregon Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) permit and a successful bidder is required to maintain standards and requirements under this permit. Over the past 10 years the Transfer Station has averaged 2,965 tons of residential and commercial solid waste per year (Attachment A includes a 10-year history). The Transfer Station is required under the DEQ permit to collect recyclables and metal (ferrous and nonferrous) from the public at no cost, however, the recyclables have produced approximately $134,061 in revenue for the last 3 years.
