Project Contract No. 1 includes the removal of approximately 3,200 square yards of existing asphalt surfacing and replacement with new PC concrete. Project Contract No. 2 includes the edge milling and hot mix asphalt overlay of existing street segments. Bids will be received for two separate Contracts. Bids shall be on a unit price basis with additive alternate bid items as indicated in the Bid Form. Work under the proposed Project Contract shall be commenced within ten calendar days from the date of Notice to Proceed, and the work shall be substantially completed on or before November 17, 2023, and completed by December 1, 2023, subject to any extension of time which may be granted by the Owner. No pre-bid conference will be held. The Engineer's cost estimate for this project is Project Contract No. 1 is $305,000. The Contractor's bid bond, certified check, or cashier's check shall be in an amount of 5% of the Engineer's estimate ($15,250) made payable to the Treasurer of Sanitary and Improvement District No. 34 of Sarpy County, Nebraska. The certified or cashier's check may be cashed by the Owner, or the bid bond forfeited to the Owner as liquidated damages in the event the successful bidder fails to enter into a Contract and file an acceptable bond satisfactory to the Owner assuring the faithful fulfillment of the Contract and maintenance of said improvements, as required by law, within ten days after the acceptance of the Contractor's bid. No Bidder shall withdraw their Bid within 30 days after the actual date of the opening thereof. The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to waive irregularities and informalities therein and to award the Contract in the best interest of the Owner.
