Construction of a new child, youth & family centre in Sandy Lake First Nation. SLFN is located within the Kenora District along the Severn River, approximately 450 km northeast of Winnipeg, MB and 600 km northwest of Thunder Bay, ON. The Sandy Lake First Nation would like the new building to include: 29 cubicle type work stations for staff; Sensory room; Small Meeting rooms for staff to meet with clients; Privately accessible interview/meeting room with separate parking area; A large meeting room for collaborative meetings, court and larger family conferences; A Separately accessible space for members of the Youth Patrol program to reside; A "Teaching Kitchen" so that families can learn and share healthy cooking practices; Cultural and life skills room; Family room for Healthy Babies programming; Outdoor play area for children; Large community hall space to accommodate 192 seated occupants with separate access via the community hall lobby; Community Hall Kitchen; Lunchroom for staff; Approximately 4 separate office rooms; Screened Veranda accessible from the community hall for outdoor community engagement, dining and workshops; Outdoor teepee and firepit/ seating area for cultural programming; Outdoor Storage and Garage; Indoor storage & parking. TIMELINE: An RFP for design, tendering (provisional), contract administration (provisional), and site inspections (provisional) has been issued by the owner.
