Colwood Waterfront Stewardship Plan Project. The Colwood Waterfront Stewardship Plan Project focuses on enhancing and safeguarding the unique natural assets of the Colwood Waterfront along the Coburg Peninsula and Esquimalt Lagoon. It entails ecosystem regeneration, constructing a 2,500-meter multi-use pathway, establishing dune landforms, restoring riparian vegetation and salt marsh habitat, and aligns with the City of Colwood's OCP policies. The plan aims to balance increasing recreational use with ecological and cultural preservation, resulting in a sustainable, connected, and valued recreational resource for both residents and visitors. TIMELINE: Colwood Council awarded the contract for project management and design services for the implementation of Phase 1 to Associated Engineering. Tender and construction timelines are undetermined. Further update in early summer 2026, upon approvals.
