Renovation of a medical facility in Victoria, British Columbia. Working plans call for the renovation of a medical facility.
This projects premise is to renovate an existing portion of the nuclear medicine department to accommodate a new Spect CT camera/scanner. The project will take place in the West Block of the Royal Jubilee hospital which is an older section with thick concrete partitions. The concrete partitions were installed to provide protection against radiation from the medical imaging equipment and nuclear radiation from injections. There will likely be some structural concerns that will arise from the removal and modification of these walls. Lead shielding sheets will be used for radiation protection in the new space. TIMELINE: Plans are complete. Tender and construction timelines are undetermined. Further update in late 2025, upon approvals.
