Site work and paving for a bridge / tunnel in Fairfax, Vermont. Completed plans call for site work for a bridge / tunnel; and for paving for a bridge / tunnel.
The Town of Fairfax is inviting licensed contractors to bid on the Rood Mill Bridge stabilization project: 1) milling of pavement 25 feet each direction of Rood Mill bridge (50 feet in length by 24 feet) with 10 feet each direction of the bridge being 6 inches in depth tapered to 2 inches to create smooth transitions from existing pavement, 2) installation of sand fill and steel plates to be done by the owner, and 3) paving back 2 inches of pavement over the milled area with 2 inches of Type I asphalt. As the Town will close the road for the project, the project shall be completed in three days with milling on day 1, installing of steel plates on day 2, and paving the area on day 3. Cordination for work shall be scheduled with the Fairfax Public Works Crew Leader. A Certificate of Liability Insurance, Holds-Harmless Certificate, W9, and a General Service agreement will be required of the selected contractor. Bid selection will be per the Town's Purchasing Policy (available online). The completion date for the successful bidder will be completed by no later than Friday September 30, 2023.
