The City of Maryville, Missouri is seeking bids for a firm to provide a design-build project which includes the engineering and improvements to the water and sanitary sewer system located at Mozingo Lake Recreation Park. The existing sanitary sewer system utilizes a Septic Tank/Recirculating Sand Filter/Disinfection System with the plant located adjacent to Highway 136. The project does not include any modification of the existing plant. The scope of the project is to extend water and sewer service from the existing system to the RV expansion project which will include the development of a 3,208 square-foot Visitor Center. The desired improvement will serve anticipated peak water and wastewater flows while meeting compliance with all Missouri Department of Natural Resources (MDNR) regulations and effluent limits. The proposed improvements shall be designed by an engineer licensed to practice in the State of
Missouri. The contractor will be responsible for all aspects of the project - permitting, excavating, hauling, disposal, and installation. Mozingo Lake Recreation Park is located at 32348 East 245th Street and the sanitary sewer system is under Missouri State Operating Permit (MSOP) MO-0129194. A bid bond for $5,000.00 must accompany the bid, additionally a performance bond for 100% of the contract amount must be submitted with the final contract award. There will be a total of one-hundred twenty (120) working days allowed for this project. That time period will begin from the date of the issuance of the Notice to Proceed. Liquidated damages will be enforced and assessed at a rate of $500.00 per calendar day after the said contract days.
