Site work for a water / sewer project in Saint Charles, Missouri. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.

The Project work shall include the following description of the work: Installation of approximately 50 linear feet of 30 inch storm sewer and junction box. Bank stabilization with approximately 105 square yards of heavy stone revetment and 268 tons of granular backfill. Project also includes removal of existing improvements, necessary grading, and site restoration. The bid shall be made on the bid form provided in the bid specifications and shall be delivered in a sealed envelope plainly marked on the outside with Bid No. 4700 and the name of the Project to the Department of Engineering Office on or before the date and time specified above. No facsimile bids shall be accepted. The bid shall be accompanied by a bid deposit (guaranty) for the amount equal to five percent (5%) of the total bid amount. The bid deposit may be in the form of a bid bond issued by an insurance company authorized to do business in the state of Missouri and with a financial strength rating of A with a financial size category of IX or better by A. M. Best, a certified check or a cashier's check drawn on a bank located in St. Charles County, the City of Saint Charles, St. Louis County, or the City of St. Louis. The bid deposit shall be forfeited to the City if the bidder does not execute a contract for the Project and provide all bonds, insurance requirements and other required documents by the date stated in the bid award. The City reserves the right to require the bidders to provide proof of the ability to properly finance and execute the Project together with a record of successful completion of similar projects. The City reserves the right to reject any and all bids or to advertise for new bids. The City reserves the right to defer the acceptance of any bid and the execution of a contract for up to one hundred twenty (120) days after the date of bid opening. The successful bidder shall execute the Project contract and deliver all bonds and other required documents by the date stated in the bid award. The successful bidder shall furnish a performance and payment bond for one hundred (100%) percent of the contract amount and shall provide certificates of insurance and insurance policy endorsements for workers' compensation, commercial general liability, auto liability, property damage and other policies of insurance as stated in the bid specifications and in the amounts stated therein for the therein stated policy periods. An additional separate guarantee performance bond in the amount of 10% of the contract amount shall be delivered at time of contract execution to guarantee satisfactory performance of the work completed for a period of two (2) years after the date of acceptance of the work. Project work shall commence within seven (7) calendar days after the date of written notice from the City. Within such time, Contractor shall initiate necessary shop drawings and upon approval place orders for necessary storm structures, storm pipe and other material necessary for construction of project improvements. Contractor shall provide City with copies of material orders placed. City shall allow contractor sufficient lead time for delivery of material based on current industry supply schedules. Within such time contractor shall also coordinate with necessary utility companies for required utility relocations. Contractor shall perform such work necessary for utility relocations including traffic control for street closure and remove necessary pavement for utility relocations. Contractor shall notify City of expected delivery dates and coordinate schedule of construction based on delivery dates provided by material supplier(s) and utility relocations by utility companies. The Contractor shall then complete all work within Forty-Five (45) calendar days from the date of completion of utility relocations. See Job Special Provisions for more details.
