Renovation of a military facility in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Completed plans call for the renovation of a military facility.

The purpose of this combined synopsis and solicitation is for Garage Door Fabrication and Installation. Contractor will fabricate and install garage doors IAW the Statement of Work (SOW). 1.1. GENERAL The work to be performed shall consist of furnishing necessary labor, tools, transportation, supplies, equipment, materials, and incidentals necessary to complete all work stated in this Statement of Work (SOW). The Contractor shall follow all current, applicable codes, regulations, standards, and criteria. In addition, all work procedures and materials shall be approved by the 21st Civil Squadron (21st CES) prior to the of work. The work in this SOW shall be executed by qualified and efficient mechanics/tradesmen, skilled in their respective trades. The contractor shall coordinate and perform all operations in a manner that will result in a professionally and expeditiously completed project. 1.2. PROJECT DESCRIPTION 1.2.1. Reconfigure and install new custom garage doors, 2 doors will be approx. (17'3x7'6) 1 door will be approx. (8'6''x7'6) in Building 1, in total 3 doors will be replaced. This will take approximately 3 weeks to complete. 1.2.2. Garage door shall utilize an overhead door system where the springs are configured above the door instead of the rear differing from the current system. This is a common occurrence within the industry and will not require CAD drawings. 1.2.3. New garage door operators will use a belt driven system rather than a chain driven system to reduce noise and efficiency. 1.2.4. Overhead doors will require new configuration of mounts and will not require a . Old mounts were poorly installed and will not work with new assembly. New mounts will have to be welded to the beams. 1.2.5. Garage doors shall include automatic openers/remotes and safety sensors operators shall be able to be programmable to the lift master gates around the exterior of the building. The work in this SOW shall be executed by qualified and efficient mechanics/tradesmen, skilled in their respective trades. The contractor shall coordinate and perform all operations in a manner that will result in a professionally and expeditiously completed project. PROJECT DESCRIPTION 1.3. This is not a Design/Build (D/B) project. 1.4. Contractor shall construct a temporary wall exterior to the building. Wall shall be weatherproof and resist entry. construction of wall is 2x4 studs at 16 inches on center with 3/4 inch plywood on the outer side. The larger door openings must be completed so that the temporary wall will be cut down and used last at the small rollup door. 1.5. Demolish existing doors as needed during repair and install new roll-up doors 2 doors will be approx. (17'3x7'6) 1 door will be approx. (8'6''x7'6). 1.6. Demolish three existing overhead doors located at the GO garage of Bldg 1 and replace with three new heavy duty rolling steel doors. The Contractor shall remove, dispose and replace the entire existing door assembly (motor, switches, rails, panels, etc.) so that after completion, the new doors are "turn-key" operational. 1.7. New doors shall meet wind loading of 20 psf. Door curtain material shall be at least 18 gauge steel slats. Slats shall be roll-formed, hot-dipped galvanized (G-90) steel per ASTM A-653. Door slats shall be insulated, filled with polyisocyanurate foam insulation, and shall have a 22 gauge galvanized steel back cover. All doors shall have a minimum insulation of R-8. Hood shall be minimum 24 gauge steel finished to match the door curtain. Open and close motion shall be no faster than nine (9) inches per second. 1.8. New doors shall be provided with guide brush seal. New door system shall be sealed back to the existing building construction. Provide any insulation or sealing required to ensure new installation is weather tight. 1.9. Frame around the door openings and adjacent structure shall be painted (inside and out) and sealed. Frame around door openings shall be clean of foreign material. Remove any surface rust, sand smooth and fill all holes prior to painting. Contractor shall match existing. 1.10. New doors shall have a factory weather resistant (TGIC) tri glycidyl isocyanurate polyester powder coat finish. Color shall match existing. 1.11. New doors shall have a locking device and a sensing edge which reverses the door curtain upon contact with an obstruction when closing under power. 1.12. Operation shall be a motorized opener with a secondary hand chain. Motor controls shall be from the interior only. Drive orientation shall be left-handed per drawing. 1.13. If or when new door(s) requires relocation of camera(s), fire suppression system(s), electrical system, etc., Contractor is required to provide these services to accomplish the project.
