Site work for a bridge / tunnel in Nelson, British Columbia. Completed plans call for site work for a bridge / tunnel.
The Silica Lane Bridge was removed earlier this year. This Contract provides for the replacement of the former bridge with a new timber structure built upon the existing concrete abutments. The major work items that form part of this Contract include: a) Construction of a new clear span 7620 O/O 4460 wide timber stringer bridge with timber deck b) The placement of timber stingers adjacent to an existing steel pipe gas line c) Construction of timber curbs, posts and railings d) The Contractor shall be deemed the Prime Contractor for the works site under the Regulations of the Workers Compensation Act and Occupational Health and Safety Regulation e) Application of leveling grout to existing concrete abutment walls f) Traffic control and management g) All equipment used for the work will be operated from the top of bank h) Erosion and sediment control to prevent introduction of sediment into the stream i) The Contractor is responsible for site security and shall make provisions at all times for adequate separation between public and work area hazards, active and inactive by means of delineation, barricades and fencing as required j) Site cleanup The bridge is on Silica Lane (located approximately 60 m east and 100 m south of the Silica St. and Railway St. intersection) and crosses Cottonwood Creek Documents can be obtained from https://nelson.bonfirehub.ca/opportunities Award is subject to final approval.
