Project: Upgrade Siemens Fire Alarm System at IPRL Background: The existing Siemens fire alarm system is largely outdated, resulting in an inability to obtain replacement smoke detectors or fire sensors when units installed at IPRL become defective. The main panel was replaced in 2018 Further, the existing input boards at the main fire alarm panel in Bldg 17 are sufficiently antiquated that they cannot accept input signals from newer smoke detectors and other sensors. Additionally, current configuration includes two (2) analog phone lines from AT&T that experience routine temporary service outages, resulting in loss of fire monitoring coverage and thereby creating a safety hazard. of Work: This project requires replacing antiquated elements of the existing Siemens Fire Alarm panel and connected input devices (smoke detectors, duct detectors, heat detectors, etc.) in Bldg 17 at the USDA Invasive Plant Research Laboratory in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
