Extension of the Hazel McCallion LRT (HM (LRT) through a downtown loop that will more effectively connect transit to high-density developments and meet the essential travel needs of both existing and future residents in downtown Mississauga. TIMELINE: Planning and design work for the extensions in Brampton and Mississauga are underway. As part of this work, various environmental studies will be undertaken through the Transit and Rail Project Assessment Process (TRPAP). There will be various public engagement opportunities relating to the TRPAPs for these extensions which will be shared as dates are confirmed. Implementation of the project is pending subsequent capital and operating funding. Further update spring 2026. *Construction cost has yet to be finalized.
