Site work, new construction and addition to a library in Williamsburg, Virginia. Working plans call for the addition of a library; for the construction of a library; and for site work for a library.
As of July 18, 2024, per owner, no construction schedule has been set. City has advertised for the conceptual phase RFP for the project and a list of proposers has been identified. Request for Detailed Phase Proposal in August 2024 and due September 2024. Award date October 2024. The Project includes the construction of a new library not to exceed 50,000 square feet and demolition of the old library located at 515 Scotland Street, Williamsburg, Virginia. The construction of Library will need to include the complete demolition of the existing facility. The construction of the library must include a lobby area, circulation/services areas, collection areas, seating areas, building support areas, public meeting rooms, an auditorium, and administrative staff areas, as further described in Attachment A and Attachment B. Site work will include the connection of water, sewer, power, and other utilities as necessary and other site improvements to support the project. The Proposer shall establish the construction schedule.
