The Government of Manitoba, as represented by the Minister of Consumer Protection and Government Services, Asset Management, seeks to select a qualified Contractor (including all labour, materials, supplies and equipment) for the demolition of the Air Operation and Core Storage buildings located on the Thompson Seaplane Base, Jasper Road in Thompson, Manitoba. The Air Operations building is a T shaped building built in 1973 sized at roughly 5520 ft2. The longest side of the building measures 170ft and is 24ft wide. The adjoining building is 72ft long by 20ft wide and meets the larger structure 50ft from the west end. The building is a single storey structure sitting on concrete footing pads. The garage portion of the building has a concrete pad of unknown depth. There is a sewage holding tank along the north side of the building at the west corner and a fresh water holding tank at the southwest corner nestled where the buildings join. All contents of the air operations building and surrounding debris at the time of demolition must be disposed of and the complete structure including any foundation and holding tanks must be removed and properly disposed of and or recycled down to natural earth. All trees including root systems must be removed. Any appliances containing refrigerants, PCBs, lead or mercury must be disposed of in accordance with applicable regulations. The Core Storage building was constructed in 1960 and is 96ft by 20ft. It is a single storey structure sitting on a concrete pad of a similar size. The roof has collapsed on this structure. All contents of the core storage building and surrounding debris at the time of demolition must be disposed of and the complete structure including the foundation must be removed and properly disposed of and or recycled down to natural earth. All trees including root systems must be removed. After removal of the buildings and concrete pads, the area must be leveled and a similar chain link fencing reconstructed between the adjacent buildings such that the enclosed compound remains secure.
