This project will improve the operations and safety of this intersection which is historically ranked high on MORPC's high crash list. Proposed development adjacent to Renner Road and Hilliard Rome Road (HRR) will generate additional traffic, further adding to the congestion. This improvement is expected also provide access management and provide sidewalk and additional connectivity to adjacent existing sidewalks within the immediate corridor. Proposed improvements include additional northbound to westbound turn land on HRR, additional westbound through lane and eastbound through land on Renner Road west of intersection, additional westbound through land on Renner Road east of intersection, dedicated right turn land at the intersection of Tanglewood Park Blvd and Renner Road and additional westbound and eastbound through lanes on Renner Road west of the western Keim Circle intersection. Project will also provide raised medians on HRR southbound north of the intersection of Westchester Woods and along portions of Renner Road, both east and west, for access management. Signals will be replaced within this corridor and sidewalk gaps and shared use path will be considered to provide connectivity to users, particularly those that utilize the COTA bus stops within these project limits. Prospective design teams should anticipate that this project will receive federal funding.
