Question Deadline 10/10/2023 at 12:00 PM ET Written questions regarding this RFQ must be received no later than Tuesday Surface Preparation Surface preparation, which may include cleaning and grubbing; removal of visible cobbles; drainage; sign, mail boxes and guard rail resetting; etc., will be the responsibility of the municipality and will be completed before the contractor moves onto the job. However, adjusting of street irons - valve covers, manhole covers, drop inlet gratings, catch basins will be the responsibility of the Contractor and is to be included in the pricing. Protection of Structures is defined as: installation of an approved geotextile fabric under all catch basin grates, and supplementally cover all existing catch basin grates with approved steel plates, so that no soil and/or milled material enters into the structure, however at no time are the catch basins to be placed fully out of service. In the event material does enter into the structure then the Contractor shall immediately clean the unit to the satisfaction of the Participant. Once the work has been completed, and the roadway leveled, then the Contractor is to remove the plates from the catch basin structures. Traffic Control Traffic control, including flagging or police details, warning lights, barricades, and warning signs, is the responsibility of the municipality. Unless otherwise specified, the roadway shall be kept open to traffic at all times, with traffic discontinued on the lane being reclaimed. Controlled traffic may be permitted as soon as the base has been rolled. Structures Per MassDOT specifications for Asphalt Reclamation, lowering of structures (lowered below subgrade and plated) is incidental and not paid as a separate pay item. The number of structures is given for information on the estimates page and bid form, but shall be included in the total price. Additional, over the number on the estimates sheet may be paid at the Additional Item price.
