Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Conway, Massachusetts. Completed plans call for site work for a municipal facility; road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.
Location and Background Information: The Town of Conway owns a transfer station located at 186 Old Cricket Hill Rd. in Conway. This paved transfer station sites atop an old wood waste landfill. As the wood decomposes, depressions appear in the blacktop. These depressions need to be filled and the area repaved back to level. General Requirements: The Contractor will provide labor, materials, tools and supervision to remove asphalt, fill in two sunken areas back to level and repave the back half of the transfer station. No excavation of landfill materials shall be carried out during this process. Required for DCAMM contracts over $150,000, Highway Division contracts over $50,000. Scope of work o Saw cut and remove asphalt on sunken areas (24' x 50') and (22' x 26') o Install trap rock stone as needed o Compact all areas in multiple lifts to help prevent future settling o Install four to six inches of hardpack gravel, as needed o Apply 2.5" of base coat asphalt to disturbed areas o Mill and repair damaged areas prior to overlay o Apply 1.5-2" of top coat asphalt to all areas
