The Idaho Department of Corrections (IDOC) has received funding for the upgrade/replacement of the current aging PA and door control systems at the Pocatello Women's Correctional Center in Pocatello, ID. The problems with the existing system are posing an unacceptable risk to the life/safety of both staff and residents. The current system is subject to operational issues, such as difficulty communicating with staff and residents, doors not opening or closing properly, and command interface problems. A new system is needed facility-wide, including wiring, devices, PLC cabinets, door stations, and touchscreen control interfacing. Any proposed system solution will interface with the existing fire control, security, and camera systems. This will result in a cohesive site-wide solution that may be duplicated in other facilities and institutions. Oral Interviews, if required Tentatively November 16th, 2023 The contents of the submittal may be used in a legal contract or agreement. Candidates should be aware that methods and procedures proposed could become contractual obligations. The successful firm will be required to sign an agreement (attachment 'D') including the State's standard terms, including a requirement to carry and maintain a minimum of $1,000,000 professional liability insurance coverage, except in special circumstances. An example of the State of Idaho's Design Build Agreement is attached and will be the basis of contract negotiations.
