Site work for a water / sewer project in Honolulu, Hawaii. Conceptual plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
Proposed new gravity sewer line from the existing Pearl City Wastewater Pump Station (WWPS) to the vicinity of the existing Waipahu WWPS, constructed by trenchless methods such as micro-tunneling. Alternative configurations and routes for the new sewer to be evaluated. This project would be done in coordination with a proposed new or reconstructed Waipahu WWPS, to accommodate this new deeper sewer, and would allow elimination of the Pearl City WWPS and its associated force mains. As of September 8, 2025, this project is included in the City and County of Honolulu's Fiscal Year 2025 -2030 CIP and funding for construction is allocated for FY 2027. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change.
