Renovation of a conference / convention center in Saint Louis, Missouri. Completed plans call for the renovation of a conference / convention center.

This project is meant to restore full passenger access to the platform at the 8th & Pine and Convention Center Metro Link Stations. This work includes the removal and disposal of all existing escalators and the existing switchback staircase at 8th and Pine Westbound. Concrete stairs and lighted handrails will be added back in the footprint of those escalators, with the exception of 8th and Pine Eastbound. In that location, the plaza areas will be restored and the space preserved for a future project. The plaza will also be restored at the site of the switchback stair removal at 8th and Pine Westbound. The project also includes all work to restore the adjacent utilities, lighting and finishes. The contractor will utilize full station bypasses. 8th and Pine Station will be closed for the duration of the work there and then once it has reopened, Convention Center will be closed. Access to the platforms from the construction area shall be blocked by a temporary wall. Emergency egress from the tunnel shall be maintained by the placement of exit-only security doors at the independent station stairwells. Knox boxes shall be placed for first responders to access the tunnel in case of an emergency. The work should be completed and both stations reopened in 4 months.
