Demolition and site work for a military facility in Akhiok, Alaska. Completed plans call for the demolition of a military facility.
Demolish remains of the Marginal Wharf and the power plant saltwater intake, both of which are located in Inner Womens Bay at Base Kodiak. Project is largely environmental in nature due to Endangered Species Act issues and site contamination (primarily sediments in vicinity of Marginal Wharf). Migratory bird restrictions exist in this area. Contractor shall establish a monitoring area known as the exclusion zone for Stellars Eiders. Demolition activity MUST NOT occur on the marginal wharf from February 01, 2023, thru September 30, 2023. Demolition of the Saltwater Intake facility is not restricted. Contractor shall establish a marine mammal monitoring area known as the exclusion zone that satisfy USFWS and NMFS requirements. All pre-proposal inquiries regarding this project shall be submitted in writing via electronic email to the Design Program Manager Eric Zeimer, Eric.D.Zeimer@uscg.mil and Contract Specialist Donald J. Gue, donald.j.gue@uscg.mil. Questions shall reference the drawing/detail and/or specification section including paragraph number. The Government may not respond to questions submitted after November 14, 2023. This project is estimated between $10,000,000 and $14,000,000. 24-19-017 The work under this contract is located at USCG Base Kodiak, Alaska
