Renovation of a fire / police facility in Kodiak, Alaska. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 19,036-square-foot, two-story above grade fire / police facility.
**As of November 22, 2023 this project has been awarded but award amount not confirmed. Osborne Construction has been awarded the CM/GC Kodiak Fire Station project by the City of Kodiak. We would appreciate your participation in bidding the project. The proposed Kodiak Fire Station replacement building comprises 19,036 sq ft on two floors plus an equipment, training, and mechanical mezzanine. The first floor (4,710 sq ft) features the public entrance to the facility as well as administration, community and fire training room, and crew fitness areas. The second floor (11,634 sq ft) is the working portion of the station with the apparatus bay, support spaces, crew quarters, showers/lockers, and storage areas. The mechanical and storage mezzanine level adds 2,380 sq ft. as well as 700 sq. ft. of training mezzanine that is included in the apparatus bay volume. Two stairs provide vertical circulation in addition to an elevator. One stair provides access to the training, mechanical mezzanine, and roof. The building is arranged to maximize use of the site while supporting efficient response times. The taller vehicle bays--oriented for pull-through ingress from and egress onto Mill Bay Road--form a backstop for the stacked crew and administrative functions. This layout makes best use of the sloping site which drops an average of 23' from NW to SE. All exterior walls will be steel framed with continuous exterior insulation and insulated metal panel exterior cladding. This is a Prevailing wage project see the pamphlet 600 for current wage rates.
