This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The new compressor is a Bauer UNICUS 4i-13 and is on hand in Kodiak. The location of install is at BLDG N64, the firehouse, on G Avenue, USCG Base Kodiak AK. Where Federal Acquisition Regulation clause language is inconsistent with FAR 13.004, Legal Effect of Quotations, that language is hereby tailored in accordance with FAR 12.302 to be consistent with a request for quotations. This tailoring includes, but is not limited to the following: In accordance with FAR 13.004, a quotation is not an offer, and any clause provision to the contrary is hereby modified to be consistent with FAR 13.004. Demolition of existing 3070 door frame. Repair damage to wall and installation of new door frame after compressor installation. Repaint affected areas and paint the door frame to match the reused door. Move equipment and furniture within room 134 to allow the compressor to be moved into the space. Work must be completed within 30 days of award. Demo and dispose of the old compressor located one room plan North of the new compressor location shown in Image 1: Floorplan. 2.) Demo existing 3070 door frame and wall entering room 134 just enough to allow movement of the compressor into the space. Repair damage to wall necessary to move the compressor and reinstall new door and frame. Repaint affected areas and paint the door frame to match the reused door. Manufacturer's literature for the Bauer UNICUS 4i-13 compressor claims it can fit through a 36" doorway, though, as delivered, the unit is 37.5" wide and 78" tall so handles and other items protruding from the unit will have to be removed or the gap in the wall will have to be made slightly larger. 3.) Move equipment and furniture within room 134 out of the way to allow the compressor to be moved into the space. See image 2. Move furniture and equipment to locations as directed by Firehouse personnel and COR but within 50 ft of room 134 Replace Breathing Air Compressor at Firehouse N64 Page 2 | 6 4.) Move the new Breathing Air Compressor into the room and install. The new breathing air compressor is approximately 4400 lbs. Mount/bolt to the floor. Coordinate with COR to have the compressor delivered to the firehouse before starting work. It will be delivered to one of the vehicle bays. 5.) Electrically install the new compressor. Install a new Square D NQOD compatible 60 Amp, 3 phase, 208V breaker in Panel C Circuits 24, 26, 28, replacing the existing breaker. Provide 8 gauge conductors for the circuit and appropriate EMT conduit. Install a disconnect rated for the 10 HP compressor motor. Electrically disconnect and Lockout the old compressor in 133 that was fed from circuits 24, 26, and 28 before this construction.
