The 195 cfs Pumping Plant No. 4 is a cast-in-place concrete structure containing five vertical turbine pumps. An electrical control building will be constructed to house the associated power supply and pump control equipment. The control building is comprised of a reinforced concrete slab-on-grade foundation, CMU block walls, and a structural steel roof system. The Reach 4 pipeline work consists of a 90-inch diameter cement mortar-lined and mortar-coated (CML-CMC) steel pipeline including PID lateral and customer turnout construction and tie-ins, electrical and SCADA communications, and work at the existing Locust Avenue well. The Reach 4 Pipeline alignment will run adjacent to the existing PID Reach 4 Canal and conclude with a reinforced concrete pipeline outlet structure at the Reach 5 Canal. Pipeline work includes 48-inch and 18-inch diameter CML-CMC steel piping at the new Pumping Plant No. 4. Various site improvements will be necessary at Pumping Plant No. 4 and No. 5 including removal of sediment from Settling Basin No. 3 at Pumping Plant No. 4 and from Settling Basin No. 4 at Pumping Plant No. 5. The existing Pumping Plants No. 4 and No. 5 will be decommissioned and includes the demolition and disposal of existing buried piping and concrete lined canal at the existing Pumping Plant No. 4 site immediately north of the new Pumping Plant No. 4 location, and removal of existing overhead electrical equipment at Pumping Plants No. 4 and No. 5. This work includes the removal and salvage of existing District pumps and equipment by the CONTRACTOR to be delivered to the District for storage at District facilities. SITE OF WORK: The Site of the WORK is located along the OWNER's main canal from the San Joaquin River in Stanislaus County, California, east of the City of Patterson. The overall Patterson Irrigation District (PID) Main Canal Rehabilitation Project involves the replacement of the Main Canal System from the existing Reach 1 headwall near the existing PID Fish Screen/Pumping Plant #1 on the San Joaquin River to the end of the Reach 5 replacement east of State Highway 33.
