As of January 15, 2024, this project was awarded to Addcox Heating Center, awarded amount is not available. Myrtle Creek Elementary was built in 1949 and is one of three South Umpqua School District elementary schools. It is the only school that does not have cooling in the classrooms. The existing heating units in the attic are at the end of life, and it is time to upgrade the system to include cooling and heating via mini splits. An additional part of the RFP is determining the availability and cost to provide power to these units. A decommissioning and demolition/removal plan for the existing and previous heaters left in the attic will need to be developed and included in the RFP. We anticipate the project to be partially funded by Federal Grants. Therefore, the successful proposers will follow both federal and state regulations. Work includes providing equipment specified in Exhibit 1. Demo, recovery, and off-site disposal of the old units. BOLI prevailing wages included. Permits included. Electrical work included. Reuse disconnects if applicable. Start-up, test-out, and training. All work is to be done during the summer months, regular business hours, and no temporary cooling is provided.
