Demolition and asbestos abatement for a residential development in Swansea, Massachusetts. Completed plans call for the demolition of a residential development; and for asbestos abatement for a residential development.
A. This Section outlines CONTRACTOR requirements to perform the demolition of five (5) structures including a one and one-half story 2,124 main residential dwelling, a single story 2,340 sf barn, two (2) wooden stables totaling 1,005 sf and a shed/greenhouse of 250 sf. Some of the structures were found to contain Asbestos Containing Material (ACM). A hazardous materials survey for ACM, LBP, PCB and other hazardous materials was performed and documented for the building in a report prepared by SAK Environmental dated October 2, 2023. B. The Town of Swansea is defined as the project OWNER. SAK Environmental LLC is defined as the project ENGINEER. Abatement of Hazardous materials and demolition of five structures at Medeiros Farm, 1100 Bark St. Specifications on removal and third party review required. A 50% payment bond must be provided at execution of contract. Prevailing wage rates apply. The Town of Swansea may cancel this bid at any time should it be in the best interest of the Town. Bid award to lowest responsible and eligible bidder. Estimated Cost $100,000 Questions due to procurement@swanseama.gov on 11/21/23 by 12:00 P.M.
