Work will also include regrading a portion of the MidValley Channel to connect the two new expansion basins to the existing basin. Under separate contract the City plans to improve the larger expansion basin into a new city park. The project involves erosion and dust control of the entire site to protect adjacent residential and commercial development. All work areas impacted by the construction operation shall be stabilized. Besides the new basins the project includes constructing several weir structures intended to meter flows from the existing basin through the Mid-Valley Channel and expansion basins. Fine grading of the expansion basins will be done under separate contract as part of site improvements for the future park.
