The Matanuska-Susitna Borough (MSB) requests well line repairs at Fire Station 3-3 located at 15855 E. Clark Rd. in Palmer, Alaska. The facility was built in 1983 with a private well drilled to 402 feet deep and located approximately 320 feet north of the building. Water was noted bubbling out of the ground about 54 feet north of the building and standing water 4-8 inches deep was puddled on the north, east and west sides. Maintenance has shut off the well pump and the water has subsided. Work Description - Supply all labor, equipment, materials and supplies to perform the required work as indicated in Scope of Work. - All work shall be substantially complete prior to November 30, 2023. Final Completion shall be obtained by December 30, 2023. - Contractor shall request locates from the utilities having facilities in the area. Use the Alaska Digline, Inc. Locate Call Center for the utilities. - The contractor shall comply with federal, state, and local regulations for construction safety standards. - The estimated project construction cost is approximately $25,000. Scope of Work - Include all mobilization and demobilization of equipment and materials. - Excavate to an estimated dept of 12 feet to locate water line leak. MSB anticipates excavation up to 60 feet long by 12 feet deep. (Contractor may use a trench box as an alternate excavation method). - Replace up to 40 feet of 2-inch Type K copper well line. Well line shall be repaired per original plan specification (see page C-1 / Sec A-A) with a sand bed and 2 layers of continues 2-inch x 4-foot rigid insulation with minimum of 2 foot stager at all butt joints. - Backfill well line with removed unclassified excavation and compact at 12-inch lifts. - Final grade to match original slope contours. - Topsoil & Seeding are not required. - Remove all trash waste materials from job site.
