RFQ - Groesbeck Street Extension The City of Bryan is requesting qualifications for professional engineering and associated services, in accordance with the requirements specified herein and including all provisions set forth in the accompanying documentation. The City of Bryan has invited firms from the short list of firms resulting from the RFQ21-028 City of Bryan Professional Services to respond to this project specific RFQ 24-017. The project location is shown clearly in the Conceptual Layout in Exhibit C. Generally described as the extension of Groesbeck Street connecting S. College Avenue with Texas Avenue at the intersection of E 32nd Street. This alignment will require modifications to various side streets intersecting the new roadway and will require right of way acquisition for the project scope. The project is listed in the City of Bryan's FY 2024 Capital Improvement Program for design and the FY 2026 year for construction. There is another capital improvement project to realign the Groesbeck intersection with the railroad tracks and place additional quad gates for the railroad and new traffic signals for vehicles on both Finfeather and S. College. This project design has been completed and the City is awaiting final plans for trackside improvements from Union Pacific Railroad prior to letting the project to bid. The Groesbeck Extension project will connect to that Groesbeck Quiet Zone project and extend a new road between S. College and Texas Avenue aligning with E 32nd Street. E 32nd Street turns into Carter Creek Parkway which is a collector roadway that provides southeastward mobility to E 29th Street which turns into Tarrow Avenue in College Station leading to University Drive. This project is envisioned as a key piece to regional mobility providing a connection to University Drive to the East and SH 47 to the West utilizing Groesbeck and Leonard Roads to connect to SH 47. A design firm selection has not been disclosed.
