Site work for a mixed-use development in Calgary, Alberta. Design plans call for site work for a playground / park / athletic field; and sidewalk / parking lot.
Construction associated with phase 1 of the masterplan for Munro Park was completed in 2017, which included a constructed walking / running track with exercise nodes, additional picnic tables, trees, shrubs and removal of the baseball diamond. This project is intended to address the phase 2 improvements of the park masterplan, completed in 2014. These improvements initially proposed an enhanced playground and additional amenities such as a possible skatepark, additional pathways, and a drinking fountain. The proposed phase 2 program, as well as current utilization of park programming, needs to be re-evaluated and confirmed through engagement with internal and external interest holders and the public. Work may include enhancements to and expansion of the current play area in NE corner of the park, installation of a water fountain, and addition of winter service for skating rink. TIMELINE: Conceptual planning and public engagement is underway. Detailed design concept is due in mid-2024. Construction is planned for 2025.
