"The City of Calgary (The City) is giving Notice of Intent to renew a contract with SYLVIS Environmental Services Inc. (SYLVIS) for ongoing management of The City's Beneficial Reuse of Dewatered Biosolids Program for the next five (5) years. Since 2013, The City has worked in collaboration with SYLVIS to establish a 350-hectare willow plantation and beneficially utilize biosolids recovered from the wastewater treatment process to improve marginal land quality. The plantation functions as a vital part of The City's biosolids management program by providing flexible and reliable management capacity and a valuable wood by product for use as feedstock at the Calgary Composting Facility.
