Renovation of a municipal facility in Charlotte, North Carolina. Design plans call for the renovation of a 97,500-square-foot, three-story above grade municipal facility.
This building is 3 stories and approximately 97,500 square feet (32,500 sf per floor). The scope of work is a complete gut and interior renovation of a partially occupied building. The first two floors will be a mix of open office landscape and enclosed offices. One half of the third floor will remain courtrooms, but it will be renovated. The remaining half of the third floor will be office and meeting space supporting the courtrooms. Juvenile Justice will be relocated from the 4th floor of the County & Courts Office Building and existing Community Supervision (formerly Probation & Parole) space will expanded to allow the relocation of staff from lease space at Charlotte East As of October 13, 2025, this project is included in Mecklenburg County's Fiscal Year 2025-2030 CIP. It is currently in the design phase. Construction is expected to begin in 2027.
