Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Charlotte, North Carolina. Design plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; and sidewalk / parking lot.
This new segment of McDowell Creek Greenway will add approximately 3.6 miles of greenway trail from the new trailhead parking lot on Gilead Road to Auten Nature Preserve at Beatties Ford Road and/or Pamela Street. The project scope will include paved greenway trails, access trails, natural surface trails, crossing structures (bridges, swale bridges, culverts), boardwalks, and other related site improvements. This project is currently funded for design through a partnership with the Town of Huntersville. As of September 10, 2024, this project is included Mecklenburg County's FY2024-2028 CIP and funding is allocated for construction in FY 2025, FY 2026, and FY 2027. Currently it is in the early design phase. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change. The content management team will continue to pursue additional details as they become available.
