Renovation of a municipal facility in Charlotte, North Carolina. Conceptual plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.

Thi s building is 3 stories and approximately 97,500 square feet (32,500 sf per floor). The scope of work is a complete gut and interior renovation of a partially occupied building. Th e first two floors will be a mix of open office landscape and enclosed offices. One half of the third floor will remain courtrooms, but it will be renovated. The remaining half of the third floor will be office and meeting space supporting the courtrooms. Juvenile Justice will be relocated from the 4th floor of the County & Courts Office Building and existing Community Supervision (formerly Probation & Parole) space will expanded to allow the relocation of staff from lease space at Charlotte East. As of November 15, 2023, this project is included Mecklenburg County's FY2024-2028 CIP and funding is allocated for construction in FY 2026 and FY 2027. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change. The content management team will continue to pursue additional details as they become available.
