New Building Area The existing building and site and portions thereof shall remain in operation throughout the duration of this project, as described in "Work Restrictions". The Owner shall provide work under separate contracts to provide the infrastructure for building network, the Public Address system, Clock system, building security and controls system and provide AV integration to the new facility. These Separate Contracts shall all be coordinated and overseen by the General Contractor. Chesapeake Public Schools reserves the right to cancel the bid opening or to reject any or all bids in whole or part when it is in the best interest of Chesapeake Public Schools. The right to waive any and all informalities and to determine responsibility of all bidders is reserved to Chesapeake Public Schools. The Owner reserves the right to negotiate any aspect of this Bid with the lowest responsible and responsive bidder. No bid or any part thereof may be withdrawn or canceled or modified for ninety (90) days after the Bid Opening with the exception that Bids may be withdrawn after opening in accordance with the procedures for Withdrawal of Bids in accordance with Section 2.2-4330 of the Code of Virginia. BID SECURITY: A bidder's bond or certified check will be required in the amount of not less than five percent (5%) of the Base Bid. CONTRACTORS REGISTRATION: Bidders' attention is invited to the requirements of Chapter 11 of the Code of Virginia pertaining to registration. The Commonwealth of Virginia Contractor Registration Class and Number are required on the bid envelope.
