The Town of Hingham is seeking written quotes from qualified contractors to provide Treatment Services for specified military and historical memorials within the Town. Four (4) memorial plaques require cleaning and restoration in order to return them to their original appearance, and protect the surfaces as required to prevent future corrosion. Question Submission Deadline: December 1, 2023, 12:00pm There are three (4) bronze plaques, (1) bronze sign and one (1) carved granite façade. The memorials are: Lt. Curtis E. Chase Memorial (Bronze Plaque affixed to Granite Boulder) In Memory of All Who Served (Bronze Plaque affixed to Granite Boulder) William H. Newey Memorial (Bronze Plaque mounted on metal pole) Master Sergeants Bismark and Butch, Marine Mascots; U.S. Marine WW 1 Burial Memorial (Carved Granite) Bouve Memorial (Bronze Plaque mounted on Glacial Boulder) All bronze shows signs of degradation from long-term environmental exposure. Result is surface corrosion and loss of original surface and applied patination (coloration). The carved granite element is covered with carbon staining and heavy layers of biological growth.
