Proposals are requested for Gravel and Grading along Groton's 22,350 feet (4.23 miles) of town railroad bed Prepare the existing material by leveling out areas that hold water or don't allow water to drain off properly, removing larger stones that appear during the preparation work. Adding a minimum of 6" of non-compacted 3/4 " minus gravel and grading to establish a crown for water drainage on Groton's 22,350 feet (4.23 miles) of Town owned railroad bed. See Map. Priority of areas are as follows, limits set by funding: 1. Pine Mt to Little Italy Road 2. Wilson Drive north to Highway 232 3. Coal Kiln Road to Hatch Bridge 4. Powder Spring Road west to first driveway crossing off of Welton Road ESTIMATED TIME PERIOD FOR CONTRACT: Spring 2024 BIDDER ELIGIBILITY: This procurement is open to those bidders that satisfy the minimum qualifications stated herein and that are available for work in the State of Vermont. Work should commence no earlier than July 1, 2024 or when the new culverts have been replaced, whichever comes first and be completed by 9/1/2024. The contractor is responsible for safety signage. The contractor is responsible for ensuring that all utilities are properly located, marked and identified through utilization of, and compliance with, the requirements of the "Dig Safe" program (30 V.S.A. &7001 et seq.). The Select board reserves the right to extend a contract for ongoing services without reissuing an RFP. The Town reserves the right at its sole discretion to reject any and all proposals received without penalty and not to issue a contract as a result of this RFP. **Bid Event : Bidders mailing proposals should allow normal mail delivery time to ensure timely receipt of their proposals by the RFP Coordinator. Bidders assume the risk for the method of delivery chosen. The town assumes no responsibility for delays caused by any delivery service.
