The City of El Cerrito (City) is seeking proposals from qualified companies or agencies to provide landscape maintenance services for the Citys medians, streetscapes, pedestrian paths, and other building grounds, as listed in the RFP. These sites are divided into 2 separate bundles and bidders may submit proposals for one or both of these bundles. The City maintains the right to award to one or more than one contractor(s) and to award one or both bundles to bidder(s) based on the demonstrated best value to the City for each of the bundles. The bundles include: Bundle 1 - San Pablo Ave Streetscapes, Medians, Traffic Islands, Rain Gardens, and City Building Grounds - Approximately 22.41 acres of landscapes and streetscapes consisting of sidewalks, small plazas, trees, shrubs, and ground covers, and rain gardens. This bundle contains 20 sites and is divided into Type 1, and Type 2 facilities. Type 1 facilities require twice weekly care; Type 2 facilities need weekly, bi-monthly, or monthly care. Bundle 2 - Ohlone Greenway - 2.6 linear miles (approximately 19.96 acres) consisting primarily of a heavily used pedestrian and bicycle path and linear park lined by a combination of naturalized fields of no-mow fescue, wildflowers, and shrubs, punctuated by small formal play spaces, small plazas, creek crossings, and areas of sensitive habitat. Costs incurred by consultants in preparing and submitting their proposals for consideration by the City shall not be reimbursed Unless earlier terminated as allowed for in the Draft Agreement (Attachment 1), the term shall be for a period of three (3) years. The term is intended to commence on March 1, 2024, after City Council approval of an agreement, and terminate on March 1, 2027. The term of the agreement shall be extended for up to three (3) additional one (1) year terms with the extensions to commence upon the expiration of the initial term or any extended term, unless the City notifies Contractor in writing at least thirty (30) days before the end of the initial term or any extended term of its intent to terminate the agreement at the conclusion of the initial term or any extension.
