This project provides safety enhancements at the SR 161 & Riverside Drive roundabout. Building off the lane configuration changes implemented in 2018, the plan converts pavement areas that were striped in 2018 to physical raised medians with pavers matching the existing intersection. Drainage is also improved to certain median areas where needed. Vertical curbs that will be installed with the raised medians will better define the marked lanes and improve drivers' stopping position at the end of a physical splitter island. This will be more intuitive for drivers, and should reduce conflicts. The design of the project is complete.
