Per the owner, as of June 4, 2024, an award has been made for this solicitation and the project is in design. A timeline for construction has not been determined. The City seeks to secure the most qualified proposer(s) to perform professional engineering design services to develop construction contract documents for a full pedestrian bridge replacement that is ADA-complaint and in compliance with current seismic standards. The design services are also to include any creek permitting required by regulatory agencies (e.g. Regional Water Quality Control Board (RWQCB), California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW), US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE)) and preparation of a CEQA document. Proposals shall be submitted by firms that are capable and have a demonstrable background in the type of work described in Section III of this notice. In addition, all interested firms shall have sufficient, readily available resources in the form of trained personnel, support services, specialized consultants and financial resources to carry out the work without delay or shortcomings. The Gateway Park Pedestrian Bridge was designed and built in 1990. The bridge spans 75'-0"and consists of two steel Pratt trusses constructed with 6"x6"x3/16" steel tube chords, 5"x5"x3/16" steel tube posts, and 3"x2"x3/16" steel tube diagonals. The walking surface is concrete over metal decking and is 8'-0" wide. This surface is supported by 5"x5"x3/16" steel tube beams below, which are connected to the chords on either side. The scope of work for this contract may include but is not limited to: 1. Project Management and Coordination 2. Site Investigation including Survey and Abutment Review 3. Environmental Compliance 4. Preliminary Engineering including Basis of Design Report 5. Plans, Specifications, and Estimates 6. Bid Support 7. Engineering Services During Construction 8. Pedestrian Bridge Lighting (Optional Task). Proposer shall provide all services required to complete the Project. The following is a proposed scope of services for the development of construction documents for the Gateway Park Pedestrian Bridge Replacement Project. The following is intended only as a guide for submission of the proposal. At a minimum, all Proposers shall submit a proposal responding to the entire Scope of Services including Optional Services. However, Proposers may recommend changes to the Scope of Services based on knowledge of applicable laws, regulations and standards, and to meet City's objectives and schedule requirements.
