The Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District (District) is pleased to release this Request For Proposals for the Hawthorns Mansion Structural Assessment and Estimate Project (Project). The ideal Structural Engineering team shall have technical expertise in historic structural assessment for structures stabilization, repair, and rehabilitation, and demonstrate successful completion of similar projects in the past five years. Consultants must have relevant experience and availability of resources for structure assessment. December 14, 2023 : Written requests for Additional Information Due January 2024 :District issues Notice To Proceed February 2024 : Consultant conducts site investigation and cost estimates, completes deliverables. The purpose of this Project is to review existing structural assessment documentation, provide additional in-depth structural assessment of the Hawthorns Mansion and provide cost estimating services for rehabilitation of the structure for potential use cases. Consultant shall prepare an assessment memorandum that identifies long-term recommendations with detailed cost estimates that meet the following project criteria: Allowing Public Access Potential rezoning as multiple family residence and/or public meeting/museum space Proposals for this RFP will be sent back unopened from firms who do not attend the mandatory pre-proposal site visit(s) Q & A deadline: Dec 14, 2023 4:00:00 PM EST Specific questions related to the RFP must be addressed via email to Ivana Yeung, Capital Projects Manager III at iyeung@openspace.org by 1:00 PM on Thursday, December 14, 2023.
