Demolition, site work and addition to a mixed-use development in Spring Lake, North Carolina. Completed plans call for the addition of a educational facility; for the demolition of a educational facility; and for site work for a educational facility.

The project's scope of work is to add two group toilets in the classroom commons area of Building Two. Under slab rough-ins for new plumbing is to be completed by the general contractor and the appropriate subcontractors during the week (March 30th & 31st / April 1st -5 th weekdays / April 6th & 7th) spring break recess with the remaining work being completed during the 2024 summer recess. Site utility work outside the building can also be done during the 2024 summer recess. It is preferred that both interior under slab and exterior underground work be completed during the spring break recess. 1. Three references from previously satisfied public-school customers of similar size, scope & timeframe. 2. Furnish NC License Number (G.S. Chapter 87 establishes licensing requirements for general contractors for construction projects costing $30,000 or more). 3. All bidders & subcontractors shall hold the appropriate license as issued by the State of North Carolina to perform the work specified. 4. Insurance - The Contractor shall provide, as required by law, insurance for his employees. The Cumberland County Schools assumes no liability for injuries or accidents related to the Contractual Agreement. The Contractor shall furnish a certificate to the Owner (Cumberland County Schools) as a Proof of Coverage. The Contractor shall maintain and pay the Insurance Coverage, which shall not be less than the following: Workman's Compensation Employees Liability: $1,000,000.00 Bodily Injury: $1,000,000 per occurrence/ $2,000,000 aggregate Property Damage: $1,000,000 per occurrence/ $2,000,000 aggregate Owned/non-owned, and hired motor vehicle: $1,000,000 per occurrence/ $2,000,000 aggregate Excess liability coverage of $5,000,000 Cumberland County Board of Education shall be included as an additional insured on the policy. Such coverage for completed operations must be maintained for at least 2 years following final acceptance of the work performed under the Contract. 5. Recruitment of minority business participation in accordance with G.S. 143-128. Contractors interested in bidding the project must have experience and meet the qualifications required in undertaking a project of this type & size and to provide adequate and experienced roofing personnel to carry out this project within the timeframe established in the contract. No Bid Bond is required. A Performance Bond and Payment Bond, each in the amount equal to 100% of the Contract Sum will be required to be furnished with the execution of the construction contract. The Owner reserves the right to waive any informality or to reject any or all bids. No Bidder may withdraw his bid within 45 days after the actual date of the opening thereof.
