Project: Construct a 5-wire, wildlife-friendly livestock perimeter fence that separates the Blue Brush and Elkus- Lobitos conservation grazing units. June 14, 2024 Construction completed. Question Deadline 12/20/2023 at 8:00 PM PT Scope of Work: Construction of approximately 2,080 feet of 5-wire, wildlife-friendly livestock perimeter fence, including the installation of two (2) 14-foot-wide powder-coated pipe gates. Fence specifications can be found under Section D, Project Scope Documents, Attachment A. One 14-foot powder-coated pipe gate will be installed in this stretch of fence. The other 14-foot powder-coated pipe gate will be installed in a non-contiguous section of fencing on Blue Brush conservation grazing unit along Purisima Creek Road. District Representative will determine the exact location for each of the gates to be installed. Bidder agrees that if a default occurs, the amount of such Bid Guarantee shall be kept by the District as liquidated damages and agrees that the District may then award the work to any other bidder or may call for new bids. All Bid Guarantees will be held until after an award is made, an Agreement fully executed, and required bonds and proof of insurance provided for the Work, at which time they will be returned. No Bid will be considered unless accompanied by a guarantee in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the Total Base Bid, which shall be one of the following: (a) a Bid Bond supplied in the enclosed Bid Form written by an admitted surety satisfactory to the District in its sole discretion, (b) a certified or cashier's check made payable to the District, or (c) a cash deposit. The District reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to waive any conditions or formalities. Presently, there is about 1,685 feet of old wire fencing that will be removed and disposed of as a part of this project. Costs for this are to be included in contractors bid. Additionally, there is moderate coyote brush and willow encroachment along approximately 1,150 feet of the fence line, which will require clearing. Bids should include the cost of removal of vegetation six feet on either side of fence line. Furthermore, the proposed fence line crosses a steep ravine approximately 65 feet in width. Fence line will dead-end into both sides of the ravine and will have stiff, welded-wire panels that extend approximately eight feet down the ravine.
