Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District (Midpen) is pleased to announce the opportunity for a full-service design team (Consultant), led by a Landscape Architect or Civil Engineer, to provide professional design and engineering services for the Highway 35 Multi-use Trail Crossing and Parking Area (Project) at Purisima Creek Redwoods Open Space Preserve (Purisima, Preserve). The Project will increase capacity at the North Ridge Parking Area and will facilitate access to trails on both sides of Highway 35 via a multi-use, on-grade trail crossing. One pre-proposal site tour is required. The site is currently a parking lot accessible by the public. This RFPQ seeks to procure the most-qualified team to build upon the Feasibility Study and preferred conceptual design (see Attachment 2) to prepare plans, technical specifications, and cost estimates. The Consultant shall lead the project through completion, including construction administration to ensure compliance with plans and technical specifications. The design must be code-compliant, constructable, sensitive to environmental factors, fiscally responsible, address ADA accessibility, identify and be tracking to meet jurisdictional permitting requirements, and achieve project goals. Qualified teams will demonstrate a high quality of work, cost effectiveness, and a successful track record within similar projects.
