Renovation of an educational facility in Seattle, Washington. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
The Eckstein Middle School Window Replacement Project will be a historical renovation of all existing metal windows and modernization of openings for weatherproofing and increased building efficiency. The project consists of demolition, abatement, and replacement of 904 existing metal windows. The project consists of two construction phases, Phase 1 commencing June 2024 through August 2024, and Phase 2 commencing June 2025 through August 2025. The Glazing Contractor and Construction Manager (GLCM) shall provide constructability review, procurement, installation, and coordination with Lydig, Seattle Public Schools and all relevant consultants. THIS PROJECT IS A BUILDING ENVELOPE RENEWAL OF THE HISTORIC 1950 SCHOOL BUILDING DESIGNATED AS A LANDMARK BUILDING IN 1981. THE FOLLOWING WORK ON THE SCHOOL EXTERIOR ARE PROPOSED: A. CONCRETE CRACK REPAIRS AND RECOATING B. REPAIR AND RECOATING OF EXPOSED STEEL ELEMENTS C. REPAIR OF EXISTING GLASS BLOCK AND MORTAR BRIEF D. REPLACEMENT OF HISTORICAL STEEL WINDOWS WITH NEW LANDMARK APPROVED HOPE'S WINDOWS.
