The Washington State Department of Transportation Ferries Division, operating as Washington State Ferries (hereinafter called "WSF"), issues this notice of Invitation For Bids (IFB) for the following described project: The Contract work consists of the following repairs to the KwaDi Tabil class ferry M.V. Salish: drydock for credit USCG drydocking, sea valve, propeller, rudder, bearing and void inspections; Stern Tube Renewal No.l and No. 2 ends, Tail shaft bearings renewal No. 1 and No. 2 ends; Shaft Seal Modification No.l and No. 2 ends; Rudders and Propellers inspection No.l and No.2 ends; Preservation the following areas: Hull, Pickle Forks, Sun Deck Seating. No.l end Steering Gear Room and Engine Room bilges on both ends, sewage tanks, potable water tank, fire suppression water tank; Electronic Room AC placement; and other work maintenance work, as specified in the IFB Technical Specifications. The vessel is 273' 8"x 64'and carries748 passengers and 64 vehicles. All of the work must be performed within Puget Sound, Washington during the period of February 26 - May 17. 2024. Bidders must be prequalified by WSF in Class 82 work, "Vessel Drydocking & Hull Repairs'' and Class 84 work, "Vessel Electrical Repairs" prior to the bid due date. The bid due date / time is 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 3, 2023. Self-certified state Small Businesses and certified Veteran Owned Businesses (VOBs) and Minority and Women's Business Enterprises (MWBEs) are encouraged to participate in the IFB process. WSF assumes no obligation of any kind for expenses incurred by a respondent to this Notice or the IFB package.
